Short Update

At the moment I’m enjoying a break of everything that involves outdoor activities and climbing. Actually that´s not really true…

After leaving Kebnekaise I caught a direct flight to London to follow a course in industrial climbing or so called rope access. In other words: a way of getting to a job (painting, inspecting, window cleaning) by ropes and aiding instead of using sky lifts or scaffolding. Of course it was an advantage to be used to rope management from rock climbing but the techniques and equipment used still differ quite a bit so I learned a lot.

I was lucky to find a job at Klätterteknink in Sweden’s capital Stockholm. We mostly work at Tele2 Arena (a big football stadium). Here I have been working for the latest months and will probably stay here for another while making shorter trips to the Alps and the mountains of Scandinavia.
One of the weekend trips. This time in Bergen (Norway)

So far so good, but unfortunately this autumn hasn´t been al fine. At the beginning of November I received the sad message that my colleague and newly gained friend Magnus died in an accident making a ski descent of Mount Cook in New Zealand. Magnus was a wonderful person and he will be missed.
